Transitional MID-COUNCIL LEADERSHIP

The Synods of Mid-America and Lincoln Trails (MALT) have joined together to provide Transitional Mid-Council Leadership training on November 4-8, 2024. The in-person program will be hosted at the Mercy Conference and Retreat Center in Saint Louis, Missouri.

$1,000 Program Fee includes lodging and meals.

Registration for the Transitional Mid-Council Leadership training is limited to twenty (20) people who are a PC(USA) teaching elder or ruling elder.

Training begins at 3:00pm on Monday, November 4 and ends at 11:30am on Friday, November 8, 2024 (please make travel plans accordingly.)

learning goals

During the 30 hours of class time, learning will focus on:

  • Identifying and working with multiple layers of organizational system complexity.

  • Identifying and working with multiple cultures within an organizational system.

  • Identifying and working with mid-council infrastructure.

  • Applying the principles and processes of transitional ministry to mid-council leadership.

lodging & meals

All lodging for the Transitional Mid-Council Leadership will be located at the Mercy Conference and Retreat Center, 2039 N. Geyer Road, St. Louis, MO 63131. Registrants can expect simple yet comfortable retreat-style accommodations in a suburban neighborhood with lush grounds for outdoor exercise and contemplation.

Spouses, while welcome, will be charged the full program rate for lodging and meals even if they are not participating in the training.

Participants should plan on checking into Mercy Center no earlier than 3:00pm on Monday, November 4 and must check out of their rooms by 9:00am on Friday, November 8.

Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be available at Mercy Center during the week. All meals will be served buffet style. Persons with specific dietary restrictions or requirements MUST make those known on the registration form. The food staff has done an excellent job of accommodating specific needs.

refund policy

  • Until Wednesday, September 4, 2024 a 75% refund

  • Until Friday, October 4, 2024 a 50% refund

  • As of Saturday, October 5, 2024 no refund

In the event the training cannot be held in-person for any reason, registrants will be contacted with information about rescheduling and virtual options.
